Obituary of Derald Owen Copp

Derald Owen Copp, 57 passed away on August 27, 2023.  

Born in Kokomo, Indiana he graduated from Hawthorne High School and attended Vincennes University obtaining his aicraft maintenance license.    He worked for Learjet in Wichita, Kansas before being hired by Delta Air Lines in 1998 and moving to Atlanta.   

He married Erin Talbert in 2000 and they had a son, Ryan in 2003.  He enjoyed activities with Ryan through the years such as t-ball games, remote control car racing, video games, archery and auto repair. 

After 25 yrs of service to Delta, he retired and moved from Senoia, Georgia to the Wedowee, Alabama area.  

Derald is proceeded in death by his younger brother Robert Copp and parents Owen and Bernice Copp.  He is survived by his brother Joseph (Jeana) Copp of Huntsville, AL and son Ryan Copp of Senoia, GA.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 3rd at 3pm in the lower building of Southwest Christian Care. 7225 Lester Rd. Union City, GA 30291.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Southwest Christian Care.  This organization was dear to him and cared for his mother in her final days.  Donations may be mailed to the aforementioned address or online at www.swchristiancare.org.
