Moma, Moma Laney, Laney, Elaine, Mrs Nelson any way you knew her you knew you were important to her. Not every little girl gets the privilege of having two mothers however I was one of those little girls. At the age of 5 Laney came into our lives. Sweet smiling woman that my daddy introduced us to. Little did we know what the next 49 years would entail. She loved and nurtured all 6 of us and never failed to do any and everything she could for each of us. Ball games, parents, concerts, 4H contest and the list goes on and on. She instilled values and virtues in me that I will live by forever. Not only did Elaine marry my daddy but she made me a BIG SISTER!!! Amanda and Andy have brought so much fun and joy in my life. They were my very own real life baby dolls. Dressing them up and aggravating them were my favorite past time and of course Laney made sure I never crossed the line. Lol.
She taught me how to be a lady and the value of remembering that we never just represent ourselves. The good memories are way too many to count and I will carry them in my heart always. I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck My Darlin!!!!! Rest easy and I'll see you soon!!!

Elaine was a true friend to me all my high school years. We would have sleep overs at each other's house, go to ball games, just ride around or grab something to eat. She had a car and I didn't. She helped me find my first teaching job. Such a wonderful person. So many wonderful memories.

Mrs. Elaine was so Special to our Family even our Grandchildren. . All these years of us going to Church together, she was always so kind, giving & A Great Sunday School Teacher. I loved the extra things she would make & bring from her Sunday school lesson. One thing was the Ark of the Covenant she put together so we could all see the model up close. She walked close to Jesus because she was always soft spoken, caring and always thought about others. She would always ask about Savannah & her Family when they moved to Jacksonville, North Carolina when Ethan joined the Marines. She would send our Son things in the mail when he joined the Air Force & shipped him stuff while in Basic Training & to Alaska where he was stationed. Sawyer enjoyed getting her packages. I loved her for loving my Children & Grands! . She gave candy bags to her Sunday school people on Special Holidays & Christian books to the whole Church at Christmas. She was always so calm & sweet! I strive to be like her, she was such a great role model for other Christian Woman.
Our Family will miss Her Greatly.
Samuel, Dana, & Sawyer-Dale Meadows.
Savannah, Ethan, Isabella, Brock & Blaire Pirkle.
I love you more than you will ever know Mrs. Elaine ❤️ We will see you on the other side one day!
