Obituary of Horace "Jackie" Gann

Funeral services for Horace “Jackie” Gann, age 83, of Wedowee will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Carolyn Hanner officiating.  Burial will follow at Beulah Baptist Cemetery in Douglasville, GA.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:30-7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 30, 2024. 

Mr. Gann passed away Friday, January 26, 2024, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Ga.

He is survived by three sisters, Geraldine Edwards of Wedowee, Alice Knight of Douglasville, GA, and Patricia Kelly of Woodland; and a bunch of nieces and nephews.

An East Point, Georgia native, Mr. Gann was born on March 18, 1940, the son of Elmer Lee and Lillie McDearis Gann.  He was Church of God by faith and worked as a self-employed carpenter.  Mr. Gann was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Sandra Gann and Vivian L. Gann; and one brother, Elmer Lee Gann, Jr. (Moe).
