Obituary of David Edward Johnson

Funeral services for David Edward Johnson, age 67, of Wedowee will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024, at 1:00 PM EST at Olive Branch Baptist Church in Franklin, GA, with Bro. George Daniel officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 11:30 AM EST on Friday before services begin.

Mr. Johnson passed away Monday, March 25, 2024, at his residence.

Survivors include: four nieces, Tara McCoy (Josh Whitsett) of Wedowee, Jessica Robinson (Timothy) of Washington, GA, Tanya McConnell (Kevin) of Canton, OH, and Angel Ray of Ephesus, GA; special friend, Tabatha Horn of LaGrange, GA; and one brother, Frank Spradlin (Robin) of Washington, GA.

Pallbearers will be Robbie Bussey, Randall Kirk, Jimmy Laws, Chris Laws, Josh Whitsett, and Robert Horn.  Honorary pallbearers will be Frankie Spradlin and Stanley Kirk.

A Bowdon, Georgia native, Mr. Johnson was born on August 17, 1956, the son of Dee Spradlin and Jimmy Key.  He was a United States Navy veteran and a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church in Franklin, GA.  Mr. Johnson worked as a truck driver for Douglas Battery.  He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Katie Spradlin and Vickie Dinglar.
