Obituary of Linda Sue Lipham
Beloved mother, mother-in-law, sister, and grandmother, Linda Sue Lipham, née Lovvorn passed peacefully at Front Porch of Bowdon Senior Living on 5 April 2024. Funeral services will be held at Benefield Funeral Home in Wedowee, Alabama at 3:00 pm on Sunday, 7 April 2024 with Brother Greg Arrington officiating. A graveside ceremony at Valley Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery will follow. Linda’s family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Wedowee on Sunday 7 April 2024 from 1 to 3 pm, preceding the funeral service.
Linda is survived by her son, Martin Lipham (wife Marla) of Clemson, SC; her daughter, Marla Arrington (husband Greg) of Woodland, AL; grandsons, Noah Arrington (wife Tiffany) of Woodland, AL, Nathan Arrington (wife Emily) of Roanoke, AL; brothers, Harold Lovvorn (wife Judy) of Bowdon, GA, Ronnie Lovvorn (wife Tricia) of Bowdon, GA; sister, Deborah Lowery (husband Sherman) of Bowdon, GA; and brother-in-law, Russell Rollins of Woodland, AL, along with many nephews, nieces, and great-nephews and nieces.
A native of Bowdon, GA, Linda was born to Nancy Ozella Lovvorn, née Lanier, and John Kermit Lovvorn on 22 December 1942. She spent her life in Morrison Crossroads, AL, after her marriage at age seventeen. Linda graduated from both Bowdon High School and H. M. Ayers State Technical College with high honors. Linda spent her life working as a full-time homemaker as well as running the family’s general mercantile in the community, working for GCO Clothing in Bowdon GA, and as bookkeeper for McDonald’s in Roanoke, AL before retiring to raise cattle on the family farm. Prior to losing her husband, Linda was an active member of Pinetucky Baptist Church in Heflin, AL, where she taught Sunday School. Linda enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, gardening, baking, and listening to music. Linda is preceded in death by her husband, Dall Samuel Lipham, her parents, parents-in-law, and three sisters-in-law.
Pallbearers are: Nathan Arrington, Noah Arrington, Keith Lovvorn, Mark Lowery, Colten Rollins, and Scott Rollins.
