Obituary of Emory Harold Lyner
Funeral services for Emory Harold Lyner, age 69, of Heflin, will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Steve Dempsey and Rev. Mike Nobbley officiating. Jeff Lyner will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow at Morrison’s Chapel cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, June 26th, and from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Thursday.
Mr. Lyner passed away at his residence on Monday, June 24, 2024.
Survivors include one daughter, Wendy Henderson (Jeffery) of Woodland; one son, David Lyner (Suzanne) of Oxford; two sisters, Sarah White (Larry) of Wedowee and Nancy Hanson (Phil) of Carrollton, Ga.; one brother, Dewey Lyner (Jean) of Heflin; Grandchildren; Lane Henderson (Brianna) of Woodland, AL, Eric Henderson (Hannah) of Munford, AL, Hunter Lyner (Ammie) of Oxford, AL, Brianna Watson (Dylan) of Woodland, AL, Gracey Lyner and Emma Lyner of Oxford, AL; Great Grandchildren; Braxton Henderson, Hadlee Lyner, Alivia Henderson and on the way, Elijah Henderson; special friend, Patty Holloway.
Pallbearers will be Lane Henderson, Eric Henderson, Hunter Lyner, Dylan Watson, Dakota Calhoun, and Jeff Lyner. Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Strain, Char Warren, and Kendall Pool.
A Randolph County native, Mr. Lyner was born January 15, 1955, the son of Tom and Minnie Hood Lyner. He was a member of Morrison’s Chapel and a retired truck driver. He enjoyed spending time with his kids, grands, and great-grands. Mr. Lyner was preceded in death by his parents; an infant grandchild, Angel; brothers, Charles Lyner, Jack Lyner and John Lyner; sister, Katherine Hicks; special friend, Kitty Bussey.
