Obituary of Isabell Roundtree Wright

Graveside services for Isabell Roundtree Wright, age 79, of Roanoke will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Zions Rest Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Anthony Gene Sims officiating and Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 AM -12:30 PM on Monday before services begin.

Ms. Wright passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024, at Tanner Medical Center – East Alabama in Wedowee.

Survivors include: two sons, Jimmy Jerome Wright (Manuela Luna) of Carrollton, GA, and Phillip Junior Wright (Sateshia) of Wedowee; two sisters, Elizabeth Trammell (Tommy Lee) of Roanoke and Nora Ezell Lee of Wedowee; a sister-in-law, Christine Roundtree of Wedowee; two grandsons, Jerome Wright, Jr., and Christopher De’Anthony Wright; one great-grandson, Malik Akil Wright; and a host of nieces, nephews, and loving family members.

Pallbearers will be Leonard Lee, Jerry Pertillo, Jerome Wright, Jr., Chris Wright, Stacy Roundtree, and Gabriel Roundtree.

A Randolph County native, Ms. Wright was born on June 23, 1945, the daughter of Jack and Nora Lee Willis Roundtree.  She was Baptist by faith and worked as a seamstress at Bremen-Bowdon Investments before her retirement.  Ms. Wright was preceded in death by her parents; a niece, Nora Ann Pinkard; a nephew, Horace Christopher “Bebop” Roundtree; and six brothers, Otis D. Roundtree, Johnny C. Roundtree, Robert Lee Roundtree, Raymond V. Roundtree, Charlie B. Roundtree, and Horace “Bobby” Roundtree.
