Obituary of Clent Roundtree
Funeral services for Clent Roundtree, age 86, of Graham will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Zions Rest Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, October 25, 2024.
Mr. Roundtree peacefully passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, GA, surrounded by his family.
Survivors include his wife, Inell Patillo Roundtree of Graham; six daughters, Annie Drummond (Horace), Mae Ellis (late Kenneth Ellis), and Lou Ellis (Calvin), all of Graham, Classie Roundtree (Rick) of Bowdon, GA, Rosie Mary Roundtree of Graham, and Mary Ann Roundtree of Newell; two sons, Christopher Roundtree of Graham and Melvin Roundtree (Dianne) of Buffalo, NY; 22 grandchildren, Krystal, Clarissa, Willie, Latisha, Sharkey, Jason, Stacey, Tracy, Jalesia, Joni, Cody, Chelsie, Joe, Amanda, Kevin, Michael, Chasity, Malcom, Melvin, Kizzy, Goshua Smith, Jr., Melvin, Jr., and Melvin Jr.; 41 great-grandchildren; one brother, Tommy Lee Roundtree (Jewell) of Wedowee; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mr. Roundtree’s grandsons, nephews and sons-in-law.
A Randolph County native, Mr. Roundtree was born on February 21, 1938, the son of Andrew and Classie Prothro Roundtree. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife for 66 years and was a loving father, grandfather, and brother. Mr. Roundtree was an essential member of his community and enjoyed gardening in his free time. He was a member of Zions Rest Baptist Church and worked in construction before his retirement. Mr. Roundtree was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Clenton Roundtree; four infant sons; grandsons, Ricky Stephens and Johnny Roundtree, Jr.; granddaughter, Rosie Roundtree; great-grandson, Terrance Antwon Tucker, Jr.; and sisters, Frances Pope and Ella Mae Houston.
