Obituary of Mary Carpenter
Funeral services for Mary Catherine Bramlett Carpenter, 92, of Wedowee will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Roanoke Church of Christ with Corey Carpenter and Lin Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Wedowee City Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, January 3, 2025. Mrs. Carpenter will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Saturday.
Mrs. Carpenter passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at her home.
Survivors include: four daughters, Amy Carpenter Lyles, Mona Carpenter VanDyke, Sheila Carpenter Haney, and Tracy Faulkner Carpenter; one son, Jason Matthew Carpenter (Leslie); 13 grandchildren, Casey Carpenter (Rebekah), Corey Carpenter, Austin Carpenter (Taylor), Ashley Lyles Entrekin (Evan), Hunter Lyles (Allison), Colton Lyles (Josie), Ava Catherine VanDyke, Abby Haney, Jack Carpenter, Saydee Carpenter, Sam Carpenter, Jase Carpenter, and Lincoln Carpenter; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Casey Carpenter, Corey Carpenter, Hunter Lyles, Colton Lyles, Evan Entrekin, Jack Carpenter, Sam Carpenter, Jase Carpenter, and Lincoln Carpenter.
A Stevenson, Alabama native, Mrs. Carpenter was born on August 8, 1932, the daughter of Claude Henderson and Frances Arendale Bramlett. She was Church of Christ by faith and was a homemaker. Mrs. Carpenter was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sam Carpenter; one son, Glenn Carpenter; and two brothers, Claude H. Bramlett, Jr. (Mary Ellen), and Charles E. Bramlett (Faye).
