Obituary of Ethel Daniel Mooney

OBITUARY Funeral service for Mrs. Ethel D. Mooney, age 88, of Newell, will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, November 25, 2009 from the Benefield Funeral Chapel with Pastor Sam Ball officiating. Burial to follow in the Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 4:00 to 7:00 pm, Tuesday, November 24, 2009. Mrs. Mooney died Monday, November 23, 2009 at her home. Survivors include a host of nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Myrtice Daniel of Anniston. Pallbearers will be Tony Motley, Ricky Rochester, Gwindle Rice and Ricky Daniel. Mrs. Mooney was born, April 24, 1921, the daughter of George Francis and Rior Jane Gore Daniel. She had retired, as a clerk, after 33 years of employment with U. S. Steel, loved and cared for many animals and was a member of the Disabled Veteran Auxiliary. Mrs. Mooney was preceded in death by her husband, Carson Mooney; her parents; four sisters, Pink Bates, Rebecca Whitley, Bettie Lou Lambert, and Lois Daniel; two brothers, Robert Daniel, Emmett Daniel.
