Obituary of Fred Huey

Funeral services for Fred Huey, age 87 of Wedowee will be held Sunday January 24, 2010 at 2:00 PM from Liberty Grove Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Norred and Rev. Bobby Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Wedowee City Cemetery.
Mr. Huey passed away Friday January 22, 2010 at Wedowee Hospital.
Mr. Huey is survived by a sister Janie Austin of Wedowee, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Larry Brown, Jimmy Huey, Gilbert (Lanny) Huey, James Rollins, Danny Rollins, Heath Huey, Rance Kirby, Derrick Huey and Junior Rollins.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to Liberty Grove Building Fund , 21907 Hwy 48 Woodland, Al 36280.
Mr. Huey was born October 21, 1922 the son of James Larkin and Willie Pearl Wilson Huey. He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the Army, retired from the City of Wedowee in the Street Department. He was a member of Liberty Grove Congregational Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and four brothers.
The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Wedowee on January 23, 2010 from 4 till 8 pm. Mr. Huey will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services.
