Obituary of Thomas Floyd Hill

Funeral services for Mr. Floyd Hill, age 81, of Lineville, will be held, Sunday, March 7, 2010, at 2:00 pm, from the Delta Independent Church with Rev. Jerry Bolt and Rev. David Holcombe officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2010. Mr. Hill died, Friday, March 5, 2010 at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center. Mr. Hill is survived by his wife, Brenda Duke Hill of Lineville; three daughters, Linda Yates of Heflin, Becky Merril of Heflin, Rhonda Baldwin of Roanoke; two sisters, Vivian Arguello of Lineville, Sara Griffin of Lineville; two brothers, Gene Hill of Lineville, Holley Hill of Waldo; fourteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Leonard Tolbert, David West, Ted Rorrer, Bobby Reaves, Adam Watson and Brian Baldwin. Honorary pallbearers will be Jr. Reaves, Jim Reynolds, Juan Flores, Garland Loveless, Tommy Grier and Lewis Cushing. Mr. Hill was born, February 14, 1929, the son of Jesse and Arrie Fowler Hill. He was a member of the Delta Independent Church and had worked in construction for Pro-Medal Metal. Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Ina Parmer, Hilda Duke, Gertrude Hill; three brothers, Frank Hill, Jessie B. Hill, J. D. Hill; one grandson, Justin Grant Shelton.
