Obituary Notice
Funeral services for Duelalar Holloway Payne, age 94 of Wedowee will be held Friday May 28, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with the Rev. Barrett Holloway and Rev. Mack Lively officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Payne passed away Wednesday May 26, 2010 at Wedowee Hospital.
Mrs. Payne is survived by one daughter Louise Shellnutt of Rome, Ga., four sons, James Ray Payne of Hamilton, Johnnie ( Shirley) Payne, Robert Lamar ( Brenda) Payne and Freddie ( Jonnette) Payne all of Wedowee. Ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren
Pallbearers will be Craig Payne, John Payne, Eric Payne, Toby Stitcher, Heath Brock and Bradley Burns.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Holloway, Michael Holloway and Gleason Pool.
Mrs. Payne was born July 30, 1915 the daughter of James A. and Mattie Odella Whaley Holloway, she was retired from the Randolph County Board of Education as nutrition manager at Randolph County High School and she was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Calvin Payne and two brothers and four sisters.
The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home -Wedowee on Thursday May 27, 2010 from 5 till 8 PM. Mrs. Payne will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services
