Obituary of Alvin Thomas Hill

Obituary Notice Funeral services for Alvin Thomas Hill age 71 of Newell will be held Tuesday November 23, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Bethel West Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Bolt, Bro. Jamie Meeks and Bro. Wendell White officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Mr. Hill passed away Sunday November 21, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Hill is survived by his wife Jeanette Craven Hill of Newell, two daughters Tammy( Mike) Randall and Tabatha ( Wendell) White both of Newell, two sons Tommy ( Kathy) Hill of Bowden, Ga., and Terry Hill of Newell, one brother Calvin ( Sarah) Hill of Delta, six grandchildren and one step grandchild. Pallbearers will be Michael Hill, Travis Owen, Matthew Hill, Tracy Lipham, Robbie Breedwell and Eddie Hill. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Morrison's Crossroads, Foster's Crossroads, A & M, Newell and Woodland Volunteer Fire Departments. Mr. Hill was born November 5, 1939 the son of Clint Matthew and Lela Modenia Nix Hill, he was a former fire chief of Station #16 Morrison's Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department from 1983-1985, he was retired from the maintenance department at Tyson Foods, and was a member of Open Door Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Martha Jane Lipham and two brothers David Hill and Everette Hill. The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home- Wedowee on Monday November 22, 2010 from 5 till 8 PM. Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of the arrangements.
