Obituary Notice
Funeral services for Mary John McCormick age 83 of Wedowee will be held Thursday June 9, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with Dr. Corky Addison and Rev. William Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the Lineville City Cemetery.
Mrs. McCormick passed away Tuesday June 7, 2011 at her residence.
Mrs. McCormick is survived by her husband Myron McCormick of Wedowee, a son Mike ( Linda) McCormick of Wedowee, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, two sisters Bobbie Nolan of Nashville, Tn. and Evelyn Yates of Wedowee, one brother Carl Johnson of Moultrie, Ga.
Active pallbearers will be Jordan McCormick, Jason McCormick, Ronnie Yates, Tommy Lambert, Marc Roberts and Mark Ramsey.
Honorary pallbearers will be J.B. Stanley, Terry Flourney, Terry Graham, Jerry Rice, Keith Mulder and Jack Prestridge.
Mrs. McCormick was born April 4, 1928 the daughter of John and Dulema Abner Johnson. She was retired from Higgins Slacks as a Inspector and was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday June 8, 2011 from 5 till 8 PM at Benefield Funeral Home -Wedowee. The body will lie in state one hour at the church prior to services beginning at 12:00 PM.
