Funeral services for Edward Leo Holland, age 84, of Woodland, will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, August 20, 2011, from the Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Stephen Dedman officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, August 19th.
Mr. Holland died Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Roanoke Healthcare.
Mr. Holland is survived by a caregiver Joyce Opal Holland six daughters, Jan Williams of Fruithurst, Louise Williamson of Fruithurst, Dinah Maybre of Fruithurst, Ann Pritchett of Fruithurst, Lisa Bray of Tallapoosa, and Gail Bell of Muscadine; one son Dale Holland of Tallapoosa; fifteen grandchildren, twenty nine great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Mr. Holland was born July 24, 1927, the son of Benjamin and Ester Holland. He was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church; he had been a self- employed truck driver. Mr. Holland was preceded in death by his parents.
