Funeral services for Joyce Opal Calhoun Holland, age 70 of Woodland, will be 2:00 PM Sunday, January 8, 2012, from the Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Wendell Ford officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, on Sunday.
Pallbearers will be Ray Moody, Joe Wortham, and Jackie Williams.
Mrs. Holland died Friday, January 6th at UAB Hospital. She is survived by six stepdaughters; Louise Williamson of Fruithurst, Dinah Mabry of Fruithurst, Gail Bell of Muscadine, Jan Williams of Fruithurst, Ann Pritchard of Heflin, and Lisa Bray of Tallapoosa, GA, one stepson, Dale Holland of Tallapoosa, GA, and good friends Pat and Joe Wortham.
Mrs. Holland was born June 12, 1941, the daughter of Morgan and Gladys Johnson Calhoun. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church and had been a seamstress for Lamar Mfg . Mrs. Holland was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Leo Holland.
