Obituary Notice
Funeral services for Billy Lake, age 47, of Roanoke, will be 3:00 pm, Saturday, May 26, 2012, from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Greg Norred and Rev. Birchfield officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Grove Congregational Methodist Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Friday, May 25, 2012.
Pallbearers will be Greg Lipham, Steve Calhoun, Randy Boyd, Doug Moore, Charles Reid, Tyler Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be Coach Larry Strain and the Woodland Football Team. .
Mr. Lake died Monday, May 21, 2012 in Pensacola, Florida.
Mr. Lake is survived by one step-daughter, Tiffany Rushing of Roanoke; girlfriend, Tammy Hall of Roanoke; Cousins, Aunts, Uncles and a host of friends.
Mr. Lake was born October 20, 1964, the son of Gordon and Bernice Henderson Lake. He was of the Christian faith and was employed by JX NIPPON ANCI, INC where he was a line operator. Mr. Lake was a member of the Woodland Athletic Club and volunteer coach for twenty-four years. Mr. Lake is preceded in death by his parents. Flowers will be accepted or donations to the Billy Lake Scholarship Fund, c/o Woodland High School- Larry Strain, 24574 Hwy 48, Woodland, AL 36280.
