Obituary of Dewey Davis Whaley

Obituary Notice Funeral services for Dewey Davis Whaley, age 83, of Wedowee, will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, May 27, 2012, from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Glass officiating. Burial will follow in Wedowee City Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 pm to 8:00, on Saturday, May 26th. Pallbearers will be Josh Sims, Jonathan Whaley, Lee Richardson, Clark DeValle, Edward Whaley, Paul Whaley. Mr. Whaley died, Thursday, May 24th at East Alabama Medical Center. Mr. Whaley is survived by his spouse, Frances Lucille Whaley of Wedowee; one son, Charlie Will Whaley of Wedowee; one brother, James Whaley of Roanoke; four grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one great great-grandchild. Mr. Whaley was born, March 8, 1929, the son of Eual and Fannie Bowen Whaley. He was a of the Baptist faith and had worked as an over-hauler for West Point Pepperell.
