Obituary Notice
Funeral services for, Brooksie N. Gosdin Harrington, age 89, of Woodland, will be 11:00 AM, Friday, August 17, 2012, from Herren's Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Matt Browning officiating. Mrs. Harrington will lie in state one hour before the service at the church. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Thursday, August 16, 2012.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Harrington, Andy Harrington, Jeremy Yates, Auston Yates, Chester Gosdin, Brian Anderson and Wesley Carroll.
Mrs. Harrington died, Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Wedowee Hospital.
Mrs. Harrington is survived by one daughter, Matilda (husband Wayne) Yates of Woodland; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one brother, Buford Gosdin, Red Oak, GA.
Mrs. Harrington was born, October 14, 1922, the daughter of William M. and Thelma Nolan Gosdin. She was a member of Herrens Grove Baptist Church and had been a seamstress for Breman & Bowdon Investment, CO. Mrs. Harrington is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Harrington; her parents; one son, Phenix Harrington; two brothers, Cecil and R. L. Gosdin; one great grandchild, Stormie Heard.
