Bill Moses posted a condolence

I am Eloree's nephew, Bill Moses. I knew Eloree for over sixty-seven years. I live in Pensacola and, as a young person, would often visit my Uncle Charlie and her, and all of my Roanoke and Randolph County relatives during the summertime. I always regarded my visits and enjoyment with all of my relatives, the Willinghams, Finchers, and Moses as irreplaceable and very life-affirming. I always appreciated their great friendship and immense hospitality. The time I spent with Charlie and Eloree provided me wholesome and loving experiences, valuable lessons, adventure and education from their land, forest, pastures, garden, lake, cattle, Dan the horse, Beagles, mule and Randolph County. From their lake I caught, and Eloree prepared for me a lot of fish. She made homemade ice cream and pies. She prepared uncountable meals for me. Experiences provided by the old tractor and the old truck and the cattle auction were special and unique and were excellent. Charlie and Eloree cared for me as if I was their own son. I never knew Eloree to be mean, hateful, inconsiderate or vindictive. She was an intelligent happy person, content and genuine. She like people and was kind and loving. I am also grateful to the FIrst Baptist Church of Wedowee. That congregation of people were central to her life. I thank them for all the love, support and care given to Charlie and her over the decades I will miss her though I know she will, as usual, be composed, gracious will get along fine. It would take much space to convey all the affirming, adventuresome, educational, fun, silly, humorous, fascinating and loving experiences Randolph County, and all of my family that lived or live there gave me. To Elloree I say "Thank you for everything good and loving you gave me. You're free of this world and you still have enternity to explore. That's a good omen. I expect your first task will be to locate Charlie, your love."

Joy Edwards Dibello posted a condolence

I am so sorry to get this news.
I spent a happy summer in Wedowee in the early 50's. I got to know Uncle Travis, Aunt Ista, Aunt Nee, Junior, Mary, Susan and others. I did not get to meet Elloree. She was gone from home by then.
However, I did get to enjoy writing back and forth and having phone conversations with her a few years ago.
I'm sorry I lost touch with her last year.
My heart goes out to the family.
