Tom and I were the closest of friends as boys. We spent numerous hours walking through the woods with our BB guns and then pellet rifles shooting chipmunks and squirrels. When we weren't hunting we were fishing for bass from the shores and docks along Mona Lake. Tom's dad was always making something and we were enthralled just watching him and "helping". As we grew up we continued hunting together and outgrew pellet rifles and chipmunks and started on pheasants, rabbits, grouse and woodcock.
One day Tom's dad came home with a boat and motor that he fixed up for us which allowed us to expand our horizon. We still couldn't drive so his dad would drive us to where we wanted to fish. Now we were in the big leagues fishing for Northern Pike. When we entered high school we went in slightly different directions, but we continued our hunting and fishing trips together. Then we graduated and our close friendship came to an end as we pursued our lives in different directions. I haven't seen or talked to Tom since then, but I'll never forget all the great times we had as boys and young men.

I can remember the day I interviewed Tom in a hotel near the Chicago airport many many years ago. After hiring him to work in the Kason product engineer group he became more than an employee, he became a friend. We continued to keep in touch even past his retirement sharing stories about life and experiences. I am proud to have shared time and experiences with Tom. Many of the products we worked on together are still in production and become monuments to the designer who name is in the title box of the drawings.
Good bye my friend Rest in Piece.

I have known Tom for about 20 years, working with him at Kason Ind. It was a pleasure to work with him, always being mindful of your thoughts and ideas. He was liked by all who met him and we knew of his like for fishing. He will be missed by all. Stanley C. Darrow and Family. Keep the candle burning for us when we meet again.
