Obituary of Patrick Edward Malloy
Patrick Edward Malloy “Pat” of Brookhaven, GA, born January 24th, 1965, in Long Beach California died in an accident in Wedowee, AL on September 4th, 2023 at the age of 58.
Services will be held on Sunday September 24th at 3:00 pm at Chamblee First United Methodist Church at 4147 Chamblee Dunwoody Road Atlanta, GA 30341 with a reception to follow in the church’s Fellowship Hall.
Pat was the youngest of four children born to Gerald and Carol Malloy (both deceased) and grew up in the City of Orange, California. He started playing soccer at a young age, eventually playing for Villa Park High School and Orange Coast College. Pat graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing and Communications.
In 1993, Pat moved to Atlanta, where he met and married the love of his life, Lisa in 2002. In 2005 they joyously celebrated the birth of their beautiful daughter Jordan “Dan”. After working in-house for Scientific Atlanta and later Pathfire, Pat started and operated his own business, Malloy Graphic Communications, for over 20 years. A year ago, he joined EPIC Insurance Brokers and Consultants as a member of their Communications and Engagement team.
Pat’s love for soccer continued throughout his life, playing competitive men’s soccer into his 40s, and he went to many Atlanta United games with Lisa and friends. Pat also brought with him from California his love for the water and nature. He and Lisa realized their dream when they found their beloved lake getaway in Wedowee, AL. They spent many weekends there with family and friends and, sometimes just enjoyed family time with Dan and their beloved fur kids – Moe and Manny. Pat was famous for his Big Green Egg creations – and guests were known to make special requests before a visit.
Most of all, Pat was an incredibly loving, fun, and genuine man. When you spoke with Pat, he gave you his full attention, making you feel like you were his top priority. He adored his wife Lisa and their daughter Dan, and you could see his eyes light up when he spoke of them.
Pat is survived by his wife, Lisa McCormack Malloy, daughter Jordan Lynn Malloy, and his siblings Michael Malloy, Erin Malloy Rudat (Dale and their three children) and John Malloy (Gary Williams).
